A$AP Rocky continues to be his girlfriend’s biggest fan, cheering her on from the audience at the 2023 Oscars.
Much like at her Super Bowl halftime show performance last month, the rapper was spotted in the front row at the award ceremony on Sunday held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. His partner Rihanna was there to perform her Oscar-nominated single “Lift Me Up” from the soundtrack for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The couple also shared a sweet moment backstage as Rocky was photographed cradling the singer’s growing belly, smiling broadly, and leaning his head against her shoulder. Rihanna showed off her second pregnancy in a mint green silk skirt with a matching fur shawl and opera gloves, while her boyfriend opted for a white tuxedo jacket with black trousers.
The “Same Problems” musician looked equally overjoyed last month while watching from the field as Rihanna performed a medley of her greatest hits at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium during the Super Bowl halftime show where she also used the opportunity to reveal that she and Rocky are expecting their second child together. That revelation makes her the first person to do the halftime show while pregnant, and it also marked Rihanna’s first public performance since the Grammy Awards in 2018.
The month prior to that, the rapper expressed both his enthusiasm over seeing Rihanna return to the stage, as well as the immense joy that fatherhood has brought to his life during an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe. He said, “I’m so glad that my lady’s back making music again and whatnot, and getting back out there. It’s just incredible. The Super Bowl is huge, and her being the creative she is, she going to bring it, man. I’m excited. I’m more excited than everybody else, honestly.” He then went on to share some of the emotions he’s felt since becoming a dad for the first time, admitting that it’s given him a “whole new perspective” on life. “I can’t even explain it, man. You come home to heaven every day. I’m so thankful. God is good, man,” Rocky explained to Lowe. “It’s just one of those things. I’m a member of our club now, like, the dad club. You see a dad, you see me…I’m a full dad now. Being outside and working and being creative, it drives more energy for you to obviously to think and soak things up like a sponge now that I’m a dad, because I have a whole other perspective. But it honestly helps you get home to your family and get home to your baby.”
