The ever-unfolding saga surrounding Ezra Miller continues. Amidst arrests, a restraining order, and allegations of abuse against the actor, two women who say they were abused by Miller have broken their silence in a new Variety report.

The actor raised concern back in April 2020, when a video surfaced showing Miller abruptly grabbing a woman by the throat at an Icelandic pub. The woman, who has remained anonymous, confirmed the altercation to Variety in the new report. Other sources told the outlet that the woman approached Miller prior to the incident; she explained to Variety that she inquired about wounds on the actor’s feet and that they said they were battle scars. She said she then playfully challenged Miller to a fight. In the footage, Miller can be seen accosting the smiling woman, asking her, “Do you want to fight? Is that what you do?” The woman told Variety, “I think it’s just fun and games—but then it wasn’t.”

Miller can then be seen grabbing the woman by the neck and throwing her to the ground. The woman said that although she reported the incident to the police, she declined to press charges. Carlos Reynir, then a bartender at the Prikið Kaffihús pub in Reykjavík, also corroborated the account—his second time reprimanding Miller for fighting at the establishment. 

Variety also spoke with a woman named Nadia (who used only her first name for privacy concerns) who detailed new accusations against Miller. Nadia alleged that her two-year friendship with Miller, which had included consensual sex in the past, turned abusive at her Berlin apartment in February 2022. Miller was allegedly friendly when Nadia invited them to her home, but grew agitated when they were not allowed to smoke indoors.

“That just set them off,” Nadia said. “I asked them to leave about 20 times, maybe more. They started insulting me. I’m a ‘transphobic piece of shit.’ I’m a ‘Nazi.’ It became so, so stressful for me. They were going around my house, looking at everything, touching everything, spreading tobacco leaves on the floor. It felt disgusting and very intrusive.”

Miller was finally convinced to leave Nadia’s home after she called the police. While she told Variety she felt no fear of sexual assault from Miller, she believed they “could somehow attack me physically,” adding, “I totally felt unsafe.” Variety confirmed Nadia’s account with five sources who spoke to her after the alleged incident. She filed a criminal complaint against Miller in April with the German State Prosecutor’s Office in Berlin. Although the prosecutor was investigating a trespassing charge against the actor, the office told Variety that the inquiry was discontinued since Miller had left Germany. Representatives for Miller had no comment when contacted by Variety. Vanity Fair has reached out to a lawyer for Miller for comment.

This latest news comes just a week after a Rolling Stone story revealed that since mid-April, Miller has been housing a 25-year-old mother and her three young children at their Vermont property. Rolling Stone reported that the property also has a cannabis farm with more plants than are allowed without a license to cultivate. Sources with knowledge of the living arrangement alleged that the 96-acre compound has been “an unsafe environment for children” where “unattended guns” are scattered around the home on the premises. The anonymous mother told the outlet that Miller helped her flee an abusive relationship, calling the home “a healing haven.” She also claimed the guns are “stored in a part of the house that the children never go in” and suggested they are for self-defense. Representatives for Miller did not respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.

These reports follow a pattern of troubling behavior exhibited by the actor just this year alone. Miller posted an Instagram rant in January about the Ku Klux Klan that seemingly threatened gun violence. They were also arrested twice in Hawaii—in March for disorderly conduct and in April for second-degree assault.

Per an earlier Rolling Stone piece, Warner Bros. has reportedly put a pause on future projects involving Miller, although the actor has already filmed the upcoming DC Comics movie The Flash, which is dated for June 23, 2023. Representatives for Miller and Warner Bros. declined to comment to the outlet.
